Got the 225/45-17s mounted and just returned from giving them a test run back to work.

The Good:
Standing on the gas in 2nd gear results in no torque steer that I could tell (I also have the KIC upgrade kit). The benefits of the firmer sidewalls was immediately evident when taking one of my favorite high-speed turns on the way to work - normally this sort of driving resulted in painful squeals from the P6000s as well as understeer and basic instability. These tires grip like glue. Not a fair comparison since the P6000s were quite worn at 19K+ miles, but brand-new the S03's are much quieter, with a very pleasant whirr under hard acceleration.

The Bad:
I have 3 bent Viggen wheels, one almost 1" out of round. I'm pretty ill over this and suspected some bad news, but not this much. I guess in order to avoid irregular wear on my new tires I'm going to have to bite another bullet and get new wheels as well. I have a 20K checkup at the dealer soon and will see if there's any give there but I suspect I'm SOL. I didn't feel any vibrations when driving, but sheesh, what a bummer.

Assuming the dealer doesn't deal on some replacements (do I really want more of these super-soft wheels anyway?), any suggestions? I've seen some BBS's on TireRack that I really like (BBS RX) but at $309 each I'm hesitant. I know this is a dead horse around here with the many complaints about the soft Viggen wheels, but now I'm in the same boat.
