"Oh boy... Lauren, Lauren, Lauren... How can you SAY that?! It absolutely *IS* the tires... Trust me! You'll be amazed at what a difference GOOD tires will make in the grip and handling of ANY car. After all, what is in contact with the road???"

well Bruce so right now you're saying to me that Saab puts crappy tires on their cars and that I should have stuck with Pontiac? I am not solely blaming the engine for this car sucking in the snow..I DO know it has to do with the wheels as well..but as for you making a general statement of "'Sport Wheels' are NOT good in snow." I know from experience that there are good Sport wheels out there that can get people through snow.....and that I had no issues the past winters....I just wanted to give other "clueless" people( as you refer to us) a fighting chance before they get their brand new shiney machine out there on the snowy road and wreck it....because it sure wasn't on the dealer's high priority list of things to tell me when he was selling it to me...and YES I asked how it handled in the snow....

as for needing a course to drive in the snow....i have grown up in MA for 27 years and been driving for 9 years and never had issues up until this Feburary...so I'm pretty well versed in driving in snowy conditions...but thanks for the advice

"UGH... And by the same analogy people go out and buy the BIGGEST HEAVIEST SUV that they can get because hey, it must be safer in the snow right? Little do they realize that the laws of physics are against them when they try and stop all that weight on a slick surface."
Bruce I'm not concerned with stoping...this car is fine for that with these tires...I am having issues with starting to go on flate surfaces as well as inclines...the problem isn't in the stopping of this car....so I could really care less about the laws of physics concerning stopping....
