My friend has a Honda Civic SI...its one of the most stolen cars in the nation. my friend does the following to protect his car:
-Alarm System
-Autolock 2000 steering wheel lock
-Autolock brake pedal lock on clutch
-"The Club" locked between the shifter and the parking break (locking the shifter in gear and the park brake activated)
-2 sets of wheels locks, so 2/4 lugs on each rim are actually locks.
-Sometimes, in "risk areas" he props up nails under the tires, so if the car rolls an inch forward or backward, the tires will go flat, and the guy can't get away.
-has considered chaining the car to a pole at times to help prevent it from being towed away.
I'm totally serious too, I didn't exaggerate one fact.
Anyway, those are some ideas....they may seem crazy, but I guess they help.
Sorry again to hear about your loss.
