I had the same situation.
I bought a remote off of ebay for $10-$13.
The key has to be ordered by your saab dealer directly from saab, no dealer cutting. I couldn't find anyone around here to cut a key like that so I went the dealer route.
The key is in 2 pieces. The plastic part that has the chip in it and the actual metal part that is "cut". If I remember correctly the plastic part is about $25 and the "cut" part is about $25. Saab charged me something like $16 to program all my keys and remotes.
There is also an option of buying the key that has the remote built into the plastic part of the key. I think that one is about $150+programing, a little to rich for my blood, plus, it is my wife's car and if you saw all the rest of the other "junk" that she has on her keys you would realize that the remote doesn't take up much more room LOL.
Like others have said you need ALL of your keys and remotes when the programing is done. Leave any out and they won't work.
This is also a good idea because your car (like mine and everyone elses) originally came with 2 keys and remotes, so there is a key and remote running around out there that has total access to your car.
After all the new keys and programing that lost key will do nothing but unlock the door.
All in all it is the most expensive "extra" key I have ever bought, but think of the cost if you lose that 1 key set that you currently have. Cheap insurance I guess.
Good Luck
DougA
