Scott,
I have a 1999 convertible with 46,500 miles. I have had no problems and routine maintenance costs have been reasonable. I have the oil changed every 3-5K at the dealer (am not a do it yourselfer) for about $29.00 a pop. I bought the car used at 32K about 7 months ago.
The bumper to bumper warranty goes to 50K and the only things I have had replaced under warranty are the headlights. One headlight blew out and the dealer went ahead and replaced both. Other than that, I have only replaced routine wear items, like wiper blades. I replaced the tires because I didn'tnlike the ones it came with and I am still on the original brakes, though they are probably going to need work pretty soon given the mileage (mostly highway) I have on the car.
Anyway, this car has been great. Some people have had problems with the climate control switch box, and in a check with my dealer, this was the only warranty work peformed on my car prior to my purchase.
I say, go for it!
Bill
