We tore down and restored a 1968 Corvette which was the first year of the "Shark" body Vettes. The '68 for years was a "watch out" year because of first run bugs and quality issues. Now that sentiment has faded and for me I enjoy the one-year-only quirks vs the later yrs.
BUT... If your talking about Viggens or any other recent vehicles the whole idea of it "being worth more later" is a moot point. Unless you plant to keep the car in perfect shape for 20 yrs. Viggens may someday be psuedo-collectibles but that's iffy and a long way off. Personally I think a loaded 2002 Viggen would be the way to go. Last of the breed and possibly the fewest remaining bugs.
