Taking ckpaden's point, it seems I should be adding the core substance (suspension) before the exterior beautification (wheels). I appreciate the delayed gratification ethic behind this line of thinking. I also appreciate advice Konis are worth the premium cost, and that Eibach springs are preferable to B&G's.
However, Paco makes a good point with the wheels. If I do suspension mods first, the car will look altered even to the untrained eye. As I do have to worry about the car looking "grown up and presentable" [whatever the heck that means], to clients, etc., a suspension-only mod will draw attention I neither need nor want.
Good wheels, especially BBS's, look like they were born on the car, even before properly fixing the suspension height and quality. I also like knowing that the wheel upgrade alone will not WORSEN the ride. Obviously, the goal is a car with the proper wheels and the suspension.
For right now, I'm tending toward wheels first.
Of course, I could do suspension first, but "band aid" the wheels with some spacers to increase the track and bring the wheels flush with the body. Or get some salvaged 16s... Hmmm... <head spinning>
Oh, I replaced the engine after a messy blown head gasket see link. The story can be found on this board.
