So, why are we stuck?
I have a 2001 Viggen, and seem to have the same problem everyone else is experiencing. If you had been informed before you bought your car that with these "soft rims" and tires you were likely to need new rims every 25K miles, would you have made that choice. If on the other hand they had said this car comes with two options, one for most road types and one ( which we got) for smooth, flat roads. Take your pick, here are the negatives and positives of each.
This is similar to buying an SUV, knowing of the roll-over possibilities, you now have the option of walking away or at least being aware of the vehicles characteristics.
I choose the Viggen over the BMW and MB, because I did not want to see myself coming and going and it seemed to have a certain driving style that I liked. I think this is a problem they knew about and did nothing about. I am all in favor of buyer beware, but at least give me the information to make a choice. I am writing Saab, USA, we will see how committed they are to outstanding customer service.
