Hello folks. I participated on this BB until I sold my 1995 900S a couple years ago to a friend at work. I didn't realize how much I'd miss certain attributes of the 900 (including this great on-line community)!
I just had a quick spin in a 1999 9-3 today and enjoyed the added kick of the turbo motor which my earlier Saab did not have. The gentleman is asking $16,500 Cdn with 130,000 Kms on the odo. Its a 5 spd, 5 door, which I prefer, midnight blue with grey cloth int. I believe it is an S model not SE as it doesn't have leather, pwr seats or auto-climate. It does have the glass moonroof and in-dash single CD player.

The miles are mostly highway as he lives out of town and commutes in. A quick test drive had me smiling to myself. Everything seems solid and stable even at 180 km/hr. The engine purrs, I think Saab fours are among the most pleasant to live with.

He claims it has the 205 HP high pressure turbo. Is this possible in the non-SE?

The manual climate controls have been repaired and with the exception of a few minor door dings and hood chips the car is in very good condition. The inside is perfect and clean. He has run Mobil 1 since he bought from his friend off lease 2 years ago when it had 40,000 kms.

I am considering it VERY strongly. My wife even said she'd love me to have it. She says the Saab suits me much more than the '93 Taurus LX wagon I've driven lately. No kidding! The Taurus is her old car, since we bought her as lovely '98 Sebring ragtop with only 28,900 Kms on it.

Any advice on what to check for on this model and year?

Thanks from a possble returning freind,
Reg Quinirg
