Your dealer should be able to help. The standard European license plate frame fit my 9-3, so I used the long Euro style plate while I was in Germany. It required no holes in the plate and it blended in better. I had fun while the Germans tried to guess where I was from. The dealer provided me with both Euro and US license plate holders. I put the US license plate holders on the car after getting my Hawaii license plates. Euro license plate holders are also available in most car parts stores, and Real carried them too. You will not need to make holes, and the holders come with a variety of holes on the back that will fit. Make sure your plates are firmly affixed because double sticky tape will not work on the Autobahn and in the window is verboten! My Euro plates now make a nice wall decoration in my study. Let me know how your trip goes. I enjoyed Trollhaten and other parts of Sweden. The ferry ride was nice too!
