Odd behavior - rear washer

Ever since I've had my 99 9-3 (since July '02) the rear washer has been weak (a common complaint I know). I tried needles and other things, but have avoided looking at the check valves inside the fender. I've had it in to the dealer, normal operation they say. No big deal, only bugs me every once in awhile as I rarely use it, but with pollen season now I'm a little irked. Every time I tried to make it work I'd hit the washer button and the blade "screeches" across the dry glass. Pain in the @@#. Anyway, several weeks ago I ran out of washer fluid and filled it up with the Rain-X orange stuff. Today in heavy rain I decided to try the washer again since the rain water would prevent scratching. Voila the washer went just fine at full pressure!! I figure the Rain-X must've dissolved whatever gunk was in the lines. Cool, one less thing to mess with!!
