Thinking of getting a used 9-3. Your advice?

I currently drive an 89 9000 T with over 200K miles and I’m thinking about purchasing an older model 9-3. I would get a 9-5 wagon but the wife just purchased a Jetta TDI Wagon and I really like having a hatchback. So I found a couple used 9-3’s out there that have my interest peaked.
One is a 1999 9-3, with 63K miles, automatic, leather seats, and sunroof and in relatively good shape for $9500. That is high miles for an ’99. The only major flaw I found is a separation of the leather seam in the rear of the driver’s seat, right down the right side. You could only notice this if you were sitting behind the driver.
I just wondered how much that would be to get fixed and if that is a common problem with the leather seats in this model.
Also, are there any other known problems that I should be on the lookout for when getting a older model 9-3?
Thanks for your help.
