If so, it makes the most sense, as JeremyR pointed out, to do the IC first. Not only is his observation valid about Saab's replacement of the IC (but not the exhaust), but the IC's not going to fail eventually ANYWAY like the exhaust will.
For both logical & economic reasons, it makes the most sense to replace the IC first, & then replace the exhaust when it rusts thru & more money's available. Of course, I can't really argue on the emotional aspects of wanting a sports exhaust's sound ...
