Blue smoke on used convertible

Saw a used 00 9-3 convertible today at a Volvo dealer in San Diego today. 24K miles. Nice blue grey color. Price seemed reasonable at 19K. Bumper to bumper warrenty good until 1/04. Was ready to start negotiating with the salesman.
However, on startup, big puff of blue smoke.
Told the salesman I had heard that this could be a turbo problem.
He told me mechanics had been over car and found no problem. He said smoke was probably due to "the way the car was parked"(?) "Anyway, if there is a any problem, its covered under warranty".
I left my phone number and told him that if Saab agreed to replace the turbo, I'd consider it. His responded by telling me "okay, but I'm sure it'll sell tomorrow."
Unfortunately, I think he's probably right.
Is it possible that there really is no problem?
Also saw a beautiful 99 9-3 (cheyenne red) 25K miles, Saab certified, for $21K at Saab in San Diego. No blue smoke. Fell in love. Salesman wouldn't budge on price. Oh, well, out of my price range, but the salesman was nice enough, and I went for a nice little test drive on a beautiful sunny afternoon.
Now if I could just find one in my price range (the one advertised in the classified section for $13.7K appears to be sold. Damn. Not quick enough on the trigger).
The search continues...
