OnStar is free, but Personal Calling is $25 for 100 min Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Question about new 9-3, Liam, Mon, 28 Apr 2003 19:48:57 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
OnStar is a satellite based cellular telephone. Pressing the blue OnStar button and calling OnStar is free for the first year, after that it's $16.95 a month or $199 a year.
OnStar gives you 30 minutes of Personal Calling (a $10 value) to tease you. The 3 watt hands free cell phone that is OnStar always works, especially were your personal cell phone might not get service as the OnStar phone uses the satellite and works everywhere. And for you travelers, there is never any roaming or long distance charges with OnStar Personal Calling. My friends who travel between Ashland Oregon and San Diego love their OnStar. 30 minutes is $10, 100 minutes is $25 as long as your OnStar is activated, not at all unreasonable lately.
OnStar of the only cell phone service provider on the OnStar system. The car has a phone number and you can call in and out. 9-3's with the Infotainment radio screen (launch package and drivers package Linears, and all Arcs and Vectors) also now have a key pad to access voice mail and to make dialing easier instead of having to use hands free voice activated dialing as in a 9-5.
