With my 95SET the 33-2663 was a snug fit and when the air bot top was removed the filter stayed tight in the lid, which is the filtered air side. To remove the filter from the box top you had to peel it out. The fit needs to be such that things are tight enough that there cannot be a leak around the perimeter. I originally installed mine in 1995. I don't recall an issue with corners, but the compliant material perhaps could have post-formed it self, or perhaps that air box had sharper coreners. I certainly did not note any problems in the later years.
If the corners are indeed a issue, you could trim things if you thought that would improve things, or see if it takes care of itself with heat and time.
So in your post below, were you indending to state that all three filters applied to Viggens?
