Yes, P'Blaster is orders of magnitude better than WD-40, and Blaster + heat is the holy grail.
Re drilling--it may be hard to get small holes drilled around the perimeter, but it should work. Just use a centerpunch to keep the small bit from wandering around and breaking off.
Another slot thought--a Dremel tool with a cutoff wheel is a dandy way to make a wide slot for a wide bladed screwdriver & the heat and vibration of grinding also helps to loosen.
The left handed drill bit idea is great as well, but if you don't have one of those lying around, the 3/8" right handed bit will probably get rid of the head.
For my $$, I'd use the 3/8" bit, blaster, and a bit of heat.
