The process that the dealers were going to use to update the OnStar system in those cars without it was to do a software download. We tested the process on some of the cars here at SCUSA and ran into problems. Because of this we went back to plan A which was to replace the "box" with a new one. Since the vendor had a limited supply of boxes with the latest software, we decided to mail to those customers who took delivery in October first. Once the supply of boxes increase, we will send to November deliveries then December, etc.

We continue to work with the vendor on the software download solution. Once this is validated we will drop the box replacement and replace the proceedure with the software download. The software download allows more cars to be updated in a much shorter amount of time.
