I own a 2002 93 SE. Love the car. I've owned SAABs for 25 years now. I always questioned the wisdom of going to the smaller oil filters. I thought the engine was always better served bythe "old" fram ph16 filter. I've since found that a Mobil 1 M-209 or Amsoil SDF34 fits new SAABs just fine. The barrel is narrow like the OEM filter as to not contact teh block on tighting, yet the barrel is longer by 30% giveing greater filtering capacity. I'm also a supporter of Amsoil, haveing used 0-30 series 2000 oil year round for 2 years now.
