Hold the desired button on the mirror. You may have to hold a finger behind the light so you can see it blink. Hold your opener next to the mirror and press and hold the opener button. The light should begin blinking slowly. If after a few seconds it doesn't blink rapidly, release and press the button on your opener. This should work.
After the mirror light blinks rapidly, it has accepted the code. If your door does not open/close then you will have to program the receiver box with the motor to "learn" this new remote. If you don't have the instructions from the opener, most operate the same. Look on the box (usually the side where the electrical wires come into the box) and look for a button that says something like "learn". Press this button. Mine was lit and began flashing. It will do this long enough for you to climb down off the ladder safely and get to the car. Press the button on the mirror you programed and the door should then close or open depending on the position it was in.
Good luck
