Beware Saab of Troy Michigan

As a loyal saab enthusiast (12 saab 99/900's in the past 15 years)and restorer of these great automobiles, I finally bought a brand new 2002 9-3 for my wife from Saab of Troy in Michigan. I must share with you all who are considering buying a Saab from this establishment to never step foot in this place. I really don't want to be a crab but I could not believe that I could be so mad and I need to get this out of my system. After my pride and joy would idle roughly and finally refuse to start at 13,000 miles, This dealereship's service depatment found that the spark plugs were fouled out. They replaced my plugs and stated that Saab requires me to warm-up my car for 45 seconds after starting the car or the plugs won't be able to burn off the excess gas needed during cold start (did I mention that this occured in May). After pressing the idea that there might be a problem with the fuel management system, the service manager stated that all Saabs do this and because of Saab's new fuel injection system, they are now prone to flooding during cold start. The other service manager stated that I neede to wait the extra time so that the choke butterfly in the intake manifold could mechanically open. A call to Saab' customer service line 800 number yielded a representative who said that she always waits 45 seconds after starting her Saab before moving. "It's normal" she says. In my first dealing with Saab of Troy, the body shop manager assured me that "Saabs aren't galvanized, they're steel". So please, if you live in the Detroit area, Try somewhere else unless you want to encounter people who really do not know what they are doing.
