OnStar will unlock 9-3SS and door lock logic... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Locked Out, joyce, Mon, 2 Jun 2003 07:17:22 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
First of all I always fill out the Roadside Assistance card with the customers OnStar info, PIN and account number, and advise my customers to keep it away from the car, in their wallets or purses as there are many times you'll need this info away from the car. OnStar door unlocking is unavailible in 9-5's and old style 9-3's, but is now fully functinal in the 9-3SS, IF you have had the OnStar installed or purchased a 9-3SS with the OnStar installed already.
A 9-3SS has a door unlocking button on each front door. Previous Saabs have only one door lock button on the center console that only unlocked the drivers door on the first push. On the 9-3SS, one push unlocks the door activated, depending on whether it's the drivers or passenger door, the second push unlocks the rest of the doors. So it's possible your passenger only unlocked their door and the rest of the doors remained locked. If you unlocked your door and you went around to your passenger and they somehow pressed the lock instead of the unlock and then they pressed the unlock once, the drivers door would remain locked and only their passenger door would unlock on the first push.
Hard to say exactly what happend, but that's how it works.
