BTW... You press in the pedal do DISengage the clutch.
Now, when it's idling, and you disengage the clutch by pressing in the pedal, listen for it. Does it go away INSTANTLY? Or does it take a couple seconds? If it takes a couple seconds then maybe they should look at the transmission. When you have the clutch engaged in neutral, the input shaft is spinning. When you disengage the clutch it stops, but it's got some momentum so it should take a couple seconds to spin down.
If that's it, then maybe a bearing or seal is making noise. They had to remove the transmission to change the T/O bearing, maybe they could have spun the shaft by hand to duplicate the noise...
