I discovered this forum thanks to the previous owner of my very well cared for '99 Viggen with 30K on it. Anyway, I must say that I love this automobile and have really explored its limits with great satisfaction. I wish that I had bought this car years ago! I feel that this is saying alot as I also drive a Mercedes SLK32 AMG and have owned several Audi S cars and BMW M cars. There is just something about that Saab...it lets you work traffic and the hills like you can't do with these other cars depiste the fact that it is not as fast. Although the trip from 60-120MPH is bordering on wrold class!

Anyway, I am curious of a couple of things. Sometimes when you engage first gear from a stop, it feels like the the input shaft of the tranny is still spinning and gets arested by slipping the car into gear. The clutch feels perfect and it was not abused be the first owner. This only happens once and as long as you stay stopped, you can not repeat the problem. It also does not happen everytime. I would rank this as VERY minor but I can otice it. Is this normal or do I have the begginings of a clutch release problem?

Next, the plastic around the radio/clock display and on the lower dash looks very cheap. Is there a good aftermarket solution to this?

Lastly, the car is stock except for SO3s in place of the stock tires. Any simply mods/changes worth making on a daily driver. Both for performance or otherwise?

This is my first Saab since am '88 9000 and things have come a LONG way. Not to mention the fact that I have gotten more attention in one day with the Viggen then in the last 2 weeks with my more exotic rides.

-Carl

Any comments on the above are most welcome!
