Head gasket follow-up Posted by Ken [Email] (#2113) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ken) on Mon, 9 Jun 2003 09:58:16 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My '99 9-3 SE HOT with 47k miles was identified to have a leaking head gasket several weeks ago. As per Saab's recommended practice, the dealer-retorqued it. Unfortunately they didn't clean off the old residue until I asked them too last week. How long after the engine was cleaned up will I have to run before I know if re-torquing was sufficient?
My warranty expires in couple of weeks. I am concerned re-torquing may not be a permanent fix and I will not know until warranty is gone. I have checked engine daily since being cleaned but do not see any new evidence yet of oil leaking out. I only drive about 175 miles per week normally.
