when it comes to opinions and preferences. I use Chevron Premium, which is 92 octane, in my cars. However the base stock and formulation of gasoline will vary from region to region. So "Brand A" in Los Angeles will probably not be exactly the same as "Brand A" in Chicago.
My opinion is to use name brand gasoline with a minimum of 89 octane and preferably 91+ octane (USA octane ratings). If you experience poor performance or odd smells, change brands of gasoline. The Saab turbo engine has lots of wonderful computer controls to allow the engine to adapt to various grades of gasoline. Only you will be able to tell if one brand of gasoline works better than another. Gasoline with an octane rating greater than 89 should provide increased performance potential, but again that will depend on how and where you drive.
