Take a couple of pieces of duck tape about 2" long and place along one side of the emblem where you can see the edge very well. have them overlap a little. At the point where they overlap, pry off the emblem with a narrow bladed common screwdriver. Point it toward the emblem and only apply minimal force. It will come off easily.
The adhesive on the new emblem is enough. Remove old residue on hood/bonnet with nail polish remover or commercial product like GooGone. Be careful only to apply it to old adhesive area. This will be covered by new emblem anyway. I used Windex at this point to ensure area was clean and new adhesive would stick well. Simply pop it into the hole after removing backing from sticky back on the emblem. Good luck.
