no one will begrudge you for being lucky, and you're right - only an idiot would actually pass up the opportunity to have a Saab (instead of the usual custom-taillighted weedwacker) as a teenager.
The world is in fact better for it, as it seems Saab-centric teens tend toward the more subtle and substantive aspects of car appreciation/care/improvement that their neon-painting, tire-coloring, nitrous boosting and drag racing peers.
I'm just being slightly bitter because I had to wait longer to join the ranks of Saab owners.
More power to you for taking pride in maintaining your car, and respecting that someone had to work hard to afford you such a privilege. A lot of kids tend to have an easy-come-easy-go attitude toward nice things given to them.
Aren't I quite the fuddy-duddy these days. Sigh. I'm gonna have to watch Old School again. I hear it just came out on dvd.
