Now that's strange cos in both of my Saabs (91 900S & 00 9-3) the radio reception has always been good. In my 900S, I installed a CD changer in the trunk that worked through the radio, and even after using that for about 8 years, the radio still works like a charm. Never had any service done to the radio. I've replaced the antenna mast once in each car already (the 9-3 I bought with a crimp in the antenna - which, by the way, what would have caused that?) A few times in my 900S I'd have trouble with the front dash speakers -- they would sometimes emit a "crackling" sound and whenever my mechanic (the BEST in the Saab business - he doesn't work at a Saab dealership, but has even better credentials than that) checked into it, he found that the wires connecting the speakers were just a little bit too short. I eventually replaced them, last year, in fact.

What kinda stereo comes in the '02 9-3 SE? My 9-3 has a radio & CD player. I wanna look into installing a CD changer, but with all this "marriage & divorce" business with the radio now, I'm wondering what type of CD changer I'd have to get (Saab one?)

Just as an aside remark, at work I handle the undercover cars the detectives use, and a common complaint only in the Malibu was that it had no AM radio reception...I never noticed what type of radio is in those...

Please post when you find what is wrong with your radio -
