I always thought part of doing an alignment was centering the wheel. That's certainly true for C900, but I suppose its the same here. The 9³ only has toe adjustment, but that's exactly the adjustment that put the steering wheel straight.
The steering rack is the only thing preventing you from steering "too far" in either direction. So FIRST, you make sure that the rack travels the same in both directions. So if the wheel goes left & stops at, say, 7-oclock, then it better go right & stop at 5-oclock. Mirror the angle on the other side.
Then when the alignment is done, check the steering wheel. If it's not centered, then you gotta lengthen one tierod & shorten the other the same amount. (Probably re-check the toe, too.) If it takes several tries to get it PERFECT, then probably the boss wants you to move onto the next job.
