2003 93SS - Finding power for aftermarket Amp.

I know this topic has been brought up before about finding a hot wire for and aftermarket amp, but I was doing a little investigative work and have a couple of questions..
I was looking behind the side panels in the trunk and noticed on the left hand side (drivers) a large fuse box, would this not be a good place to splice a wire for an Amp's on/off switch (not main power which obviously should be run from the battery directly)? The optional CD player sits back there, so I would assume the car has been pre-wired for this exact feature which would mean I wouldn't have to splice any wires at all, is that true?? I was also wondering if anyone had the optional CD player in the trunk and if the panel which covers it is any different than the non-CD equipped cars (Seems like there'd be no space for the CD player with the panels I have), if so I guess I could get one from my Saab dealership to hide the amp properly.
After doing a bit of research I've found that it's actually quite easy to hook up another amp and set of speakers since a large majority of new amps have RCA as well as Hi-level inputs, so simply pulling the existing speaker connections off the crappy tweeters in the back and hooking those into the amp and doing a little re-wiring to hook up some 6x9's with new cable will do the trick.
Also, does anyone have any suggestions on how to nicely route 10 gauge power cable from the battery to the trunk? I would prefer not to drill through the firewall or rip up the door guards if possible.
Thanks!
