I have a stock '99 and am currently spec'n either a MAPTUN or a SPEEDPARTS upgrade (STAGE 3 for both). The vehicle is not as responsive in the earlier rpms as I would have expected (albiet I am new to turbos). I know a linear response is not realistic, but I would like to have more consistent power w/o having to wait for the higher rpm for it to kick in. The car is kept up to date on its servicing and is performing correctly, as the dealer says it at least. I just want to feel (and otherwise realize) as much of the engine output as possible. My earlier message assumed that the turbo was the key. A bit of a generic idea, but I graduate from turbo 101 soon (I know the basic theory. It is the practical experience with all of the interconnections and complementary stuff that I getting up to speed on.)
