but for what I use the car for, the SE would have been just fine. Don't get me wrong here...the car is an absolute hoot to drive, and I enjoy it immensely. But was it worth the extra $10k CAD (MSRP, of course)? Not sure.

Not sure if you know the whole story behind the Viggen...up here, our Saab retailers are grouped with Saturn and Isuzu. I was taking my Saturn in for service one day, and waited around in the showroom. A salesman came up to me and asked to help, and knowing that I would be in the market for a car soon, I inquired about the SE that was sitting there. A few minutes later, he handed me the keys, and told me to bring it back later that day. I was pretty much sold on the SE at that point, until he brought up the topic of the Viggen. I had only seen these before, and knew that I wouldn't be able to drive one, but for some reason I ended up going for that. Must have been a great deal or something. Anyhow, to make this long story short, I'm thrilled with the Viggen, but I know that I would have been thrilled with the SE too. There's something about these cars that I just can't describe.
