Jack the rear of the car up and spin the wheel while looking at the inside edge of the rim. THe problem with the rims is they made them thin to keep the weight down. I weighed them at 22lb each, which isn't bad for a 17" non-forged rim. Another reason they bend at the inside lip is the very large positive offset. IF the spokes are at the outside edge there's not much structure keeping the inside edge from bending. The other 17" rims must be thicker material in the center area or have spokes that wrap around torward the center. Either way that adds weight. I was able to straighten 4 (spare) bent viggen rims with a dead blow hammer. I mounted them on the rear axle and let a pencil rub on the inside of the rim as I brought it closer. THe marked section was obviously where the bend was. After a few hits and remount/checks..they were straight within 1/16" and balanced out fine. OH, to hammer I had to place them spokes down in the grass. THen stand on the rim and hit the bent area of the rim between my legs to bend it outward. Yea, I was careful.
