ABS problem

Hi. Hope someone can help me with a problem on my 99 9-3SE Turbo, Trionic 5.
A couple of days ago the ABS and brake warning lights came on mid journey and stayed on. I wasn't braking at the time, just cruising along at about 40, but pulled over for fluid checks and everything was fine - brakes still work :-)
Starting up the next day the lights didn't come on until I'd done about five miles, and then stayed on for the rest of the journey. My speedo also died this time so I'm thinking the rear left ABS sensor has died.
However, what I don't get is that now, with no speedo, and ABS light on when I come to a halt the revs dip momentarily to 500 or less before stabilising. The car didn't do this before. Could this be because Trionic has lost its speed signal so gets confused or is it some other problem? The cars going in to the shop in a few days but I would be glad to hear your thoughts.
Thanks.
