First, the percentage of metal used in the pads differ, therefore, metallic vs. semi-metallic vs. carbon. Also, I had experiences where as different pads would squeak and other would not on the same disc set-up. This also goes for NG900 where Euro rotors disc and pads would squeak like hell even with shims. I have changed the pads to Termo-quiet pads and it went away. That should tell you something.
