Mike: Good question! I'm not a materials expert, nor have I driven my composite pads north of the 38th parallel (although I did buy 'em from Ontario). However, I think you will receive most of the benefits of the EBC's, without any significant tradeoffs. They'll take longer to warm up (as does almost everything up there) but the slush n stuff shouldn't affect their performance any more than any other pad. Xdrilled rotors would help with all that nasty wet sheet. Alternatively, NAPA is now selling what they call "ceramic" pads. About the same price, for low-dust, long-wear. Put them on the sister-in-laws minivan, solely on the advice of the helpful counter-guys. You might want to check them out, also. Good luck!
