Took in the printout from Nick's site at my 20k service. They hadn't heard of it before, "couldn't duplicate the problem", and thus didn't swap out the fluid for me. They said they looked at the fluid and it looked fine (I seriously doubt they looked), and they adjusted the linkage slightly. No noticable change through 2k since.
From the testaments I've seen here, I want the swap done. I'm not gonna try it myself, and would rather not take this one to my indy (more of a Volvo shop than a Saab one). This leaves the dealer. Given my experience, I wonder if they'll bother to do it right (i.e. the three drain/refill cycles) even if I convince them to do it under warranty or pay for it out of pocket.
Perhaps we should put together a list of those folks who have been successful/unsuccessful, where they've had it done (dealerships, indys, self), and what they paid (warranty or no). Then arrange coordination with SaabUSA on it and maybe arrive at a group solution. I'll volunteer as a focal point for the effort.
