Question first:
It seems that -09 and -10 (0.9mm and 1.0mm) plugs are hard to find. Many people recommend buying -11 or -08 (BCPR7ES with no -extension) and regap.
How difficult is this? (just hand plyers?)
Acknowledgements goes to Dean, REM, and several others.
Gap size is now 0.035 to 0.039" (0.9 to 1.0mm).
5/8 wrench seems to work (one post above this)
I'm going to buy copper plugs since in 6000miles, my car will get the 30K service free from SAAB. I'll put my old plugs back in just before the service in case they want to deny any warranty claims for not using Platnium plugs.
1999 prices (Don't buy at the dealer!)
BCPR7ES-11 STK# 1095 Gap .039” standard plug 9-3 model price $1.80 ea.
BCPR7EVX-11 STK# 4485 Gap .039” platinum plug 9-3 model price $6.40 ea.
Note that BCPR6ES will be around the same price. But it runs hotter and better for stop-and-go traffic and cold-hot weather driving.
