Start with your dealer as one potental warranty seller. I happened to inquire about this with my dealer several weeks before my original warranty expired, and learned that if I had asked a full month prior to expiration I could have gotten some form of warranty through the dealer. Don't know about cost / terms since it was a short conversation.
The dealers warranty may or may not be the cheapest, but at least you don't have to worry about getting original Saab parts, and you know the shop will accept the warranty. People seem to have trouble getting some warranty companies to pay, and thus some repair shops are unwilling to accept various 3rd party warranties.
As to whether you should get one or not, that is a personal risk tolerance question. Obviously, the total cost of all warranty repairs over a fleet of insured Saabs is less than the premiums collected, or else no one would sell warranties to make a profit. So you have to decide whether you want to pay up front to be protected in case you car is worse than the average Saab, or take you chances (and save money)if your car is as good as or better than the average Saab. Good luck with your decision.
I'd say get quotes from several places before you decide.
