Probably not but as R.T. noted, worth having a second opinion.
For most folks it comes down to the low profile tires following the subtle ruts in the road from repeated traffic flow. Higher profile tires absorb more of this road input. Not sure what size you are running (probably 205/55-16) but the lower the profile the more apparent the feel of this effect is through the steering wheel.
My '91 Civic Si did similar. Would catch the ruts like crazy and pull across the road. Just like driving a slot car.
New or different tires can make a big difference. The Yokohama ES100 tires I have on currently do not tram as much as the Bridgestone RE730 GII tires I had previously.
Another huge factor in this is the operating pressure of your tires. Make sure you are running at an appropriate tire pressure. Low pressure can influence the feel of this problem quite a bit too. Check your owner's manual for details on inflation recommendations.
For the speakers, all to common these days. It is cheaper to put the stock panel in there than it is to make a specific "blank" and have the separate tooling/inventory costs. You can find it on many cars (Honda, Dodge, Chevy, Toyota, etc.).
