I had posted a message several weeks ago about my concerns regarding a new set of Bridgestone Pontenza RE750s. The old Eagle RSAs that were OEM on my car were getting bald and noise and vibrations were a problem. I bought the Bridgestones (at TireRack) on the basis of the company's reputation since these were a brand new tire model at the time and there wasn't much in the way of reviews available on them.
I was initially disappointed on the drive home that the tires were fairly noisey. I chalked it up to the aggressive tread pattern and told myself I could live with it. As time went on, they got worse and worse. Finally, after the tires were creating the sensation of riding in a monster truck, I decided I had to do something about it. I called Bridgestone's technical service department (referred there by TireRack) and they were helpful. They told me to take tires to nearest dealer for analysis.
It turns out, just as a Saabnet reader had suggested, to have been a bad wheel bearing (front right). Saab repaired it under warranty (45k mi on car)and the car is like new again -- very quiet, smooth ride. I am now a very happy customer with the tires. Go for it.
