OK, most amps are made to power normal 4 ohm car speakers in stereo mode (2 channels). Loading an amp designed for only 8 Ohm speakers with 4 Ohm nominal speakers will almost double the current delivered, and thus, double the power out of the amp- 40WX2 becomes 80WX2. However, Amps designed to drive 8 Ohm nominal speakers do not like to run that hot and will produce more noise/distortion and heat.. So if you're right in interpreting the ad, you might not want to run 4 Ohm speakers. But...
It's common for amp manufacturers to rate their amps two ways- stereo into two speakers, and mono into a single speaker (like a subwoofer). Mono mode operation typically works by attaching both 4 ohm channels to a single speaker load. This too effectively halves the load on the amp, driving up the current the amp has to deliver and making the amp hot/unhappy. So, the amp mfr will rate the amp in mono mode for power delivered to a higher speaker load, in this case I believe 8 Ohms, that keeps the current/temperature down where they want it for best performance.
Alright, that's a lot of explaination that probably doesn't get through... Long story short- I'd bet that amp delivers 40X2 in stereo mode to 4 ohm speakers, but could deliver up to 50Watts mono to a single 8 ohm speaker. The math makes some sense- I have no idea about the Swedish;-)
Hope it helps- but in the end you might want a Swedish translator to be sure,
-Mark
