BSR 2.5" vs JT 3" Catback Exhaust for Viggen?

I recently THOUGHT I had purchased a _new_ Viggen Sport Exhaust on a popular auction site. Sadly the seller was confused as to what it was he was selling - I suspect it was a plain 9-3 Sport Exhaust.

I have 2001 Viggen and am wondering which of the above catback systems will give me the best bang for the buck without being overly loud. The max performance chip I would ever add would be the Speedparts Stage 2. Without replacing the downpipe, having a 3" catback offers no advantage does it? From what I've read the BSR is fully stainless while the JT is not.

I guess my question is, with a stock downpipe and cat, will the sound of these two exhausts differ that much? Is there an advantage to a 3" catback without the 3" downpipe?

Finally, what is the size of the stock Viggen exhaust? 2.5" or less?

Lots of questions I know, but hopefully I can nail down what I'm going to do in one single posting!
