I am pretty sure the V1 does not have a anti-radar detector/blocker. Having lived in CT for many years when they used to be illegal I looked into this and I was fairly sure that the anti-radar unit was a seperate device. I never lost sleep pver it and I teh only tickets I did get in CT weren't for speeding, but for having a radar detector in my car (they didn't detect it -- they saw it somehow despite being hidden). I had an attorney friend get rid of all the tickets for me since it wasn't illegal to own one, but to use one and they had no proof I was using it. Silly law all together and the fine was low anyway. I think they just liked pulling over a 21 year old with a fast car to give me BS.
All that said the only change I would make to the instructions for a different detector would be the clamp on the lighter. That clamp supplied by V1 makes this very easy. Without the clamp you cut the wire, strip the ends, add the wire for the radar and twist cap the wires together. You can also go to Radio Shack and get a device that slips over the fuse in the fuse box and gives you a wire to connect from. Some differen options out there. The V1 is a nice package since they give you everything for the $399. If you were to get a Passport for $299 and buy all the stuff V1 gives you out of the gate you would be close in price as you have to pay extra for the hardwire stuff and adapter for concelled display.
