Replacing the antenna mast is a very simple procedure assuming of course that the plastic thread is intact
I did it today on my car.
tools needed:
17 mm wrench
step 1: unscrew the black bolt securing the antenna to the housing with the 17 mm wrench
step 2: turn on the radio
step 3: After the antenna is fully erect, pull the white plastic thread out of the housing. (If the thread is severed I have no idea how to help you)
step 4: Reuse the original silver piece located at the base of the antenna (you'll know what it is when you see it)
step 5: Insert the new white plastic thread into the antenna housing
step 6: Turn off the radio
step 7: Perform steps 6 through 7 until the antenna catches
step 8: Rescrew the black bolt with the 17 mm wrench
Done
Note: Don't worry if the antenna doesn't fully close. The motor compensates for this and should adjust in several attempts of on/off
I hope this helps
Happy Saabing
