I braught it into the shop, because it started doing this all of a sudden.
The mechanic replaced the soloniod, and adjusted the base-boost-pressure.
I actually just got back from the shop 5 minutes ago, he said that he'd have to readjust the boost pressure again. But, in order to do that, he'd have to adjust it in two places, and wait for the car to cool down - because the adjustment is right by the exhaust.
This problem only really occurs while on a highway, in 3rd or 4th gear... On backroads, when the car isn't in a high gear, the turbo gauge doesn't even reach the end of the yellow... this makes me think that it is set too low alredy, and when he goes to adjust it even more, its not going to have a lot of boost in lower gears.
Sigh!
I have the car now, I'll be dropping it off later tonight so it can have the night to cool down, and then be adjusted in the morning.
What do you think? Is there something I can do without the mechanic?
Thanks!
-Bradley.
