Here I go again. Years ago I bought a Taurus SHO with 5-spd stick. Loved it. When the SHO came out it was a ludicrously fast for a 4 dr sedan. Tests showed it ran with the best muscle cars of the day and outpaced Ford's own top Mustang from 50-100. By the time I sold my 2nd SHO last year, it was no longer a thing of awe. Just a decent, roomy, 4 door sedan that was among the quicker sedans available, and somewhat odd in that it had a manual trans. Now I'm driving a Viggen. And loving it. In 2000 the Viggen was a surprisingly quick/fast sedan; mid size with 230hp...wow. Now I read that in next cpl yrs mid size GMs (Monte Carlo, Grand Prix) will be running V8s with around 275 hp. Even the Buick LeSabre (yup, like your grandma drives) will soon sport a V8 with that kind of power. Hate the thought of someday struggling in my Viggen to keep pace with the rental car in the next lane. Oh well, that's progress I guess. At least when the Viggen is no longer considered fast, it will still be a heck of nice car with darn nice seats.
