You're beginning to make me self-concious about my posts ...

Okay, I feel better now.
wb,
I'll agree with everyone else & say you're perfectly fine (maybe even better off) with Mobil 1 10W-30. (It's just a tiny bit more durable & protective than their 5W-30.)
The only other thing I feel I can offer (after all of these "most excellent" posts) is that Saab recommends synthetic oils that meet certain durability & protection requirements. These requirements are specified by a European association (ACEA) & broken down into classes (A = gasoline, B = light diesel, E = heavy diesel) & grades (1 thru 5).
The ratings you care about are A1, A3 & A5. Of the three, A1 is the least durable/protective, A5 is sorta/kinda in between, & A3 is the most durable/protective. (Don't ask why they go this way instead of "in order.") The rating Saab cares about is ACEA A3.
Of the Mobil 1 oils, only the 0W-40 & 15W-50 are ACEA A3 rated, while all the 30wts are ACEA A5 rated. Other brands offer other viscosity ranges which meet ACEA A3. My feeling is, "Go with an ACEA A3 rated oil." I use Mobil 1, but I wouldn't hesitate to use Amsoil. Both of these are higher quality synthetics than the other over-the-counter brands. But use whatever brand you're comfortable with, so you can sleep at night.
I also feel that Mobil 1 15W-50 is probably the best oil for our turbocharged engines, but I wouldn't recommend it if gets below freezing in the winter. (I'm in Northern Colorado. I used it last winter down to 12°F in my '90 Saab, & I'll use it again this winter, but I still don't recommend it. That's weird, I know.) In my '99 9³ I use 0W-40 year-round.
If this whole oily bidness starts to get under your skin, check out the link below. If you don't want to get sucked into the whole "oily undead" subculture, then forget I mentioned it ...
