I just wanted to post these because I couldn't find the link when I searched the BB, but Ed NC walked me right through this with the directions below. These were very helpful:

Air Cabin Filter replacement
I did mine last week, a '99 9-3.
Remove wiper dust caps (don't mix them up) and wiper arm bolts. Wiggle the wiper arms off the ribbed spindles. Don’t mix them up either. I put a small piece of tape on the windshield to mark where the blades rested (for re-installation). There is a plastic shroud that is inserted into weather stripping at the bottom of the windshield. There are also two clips at the bottom of this shroud. Remove the clips, pull the shroud downward out of the weather-stripping and you have to sort of bend the plastic shroud upwards to get it out of the corners. Be careful there. On the right (driver) side the windshield washer tubing is attached to both sides (top and bottom) of the shroud. Disconnect it. My car also had another plastic piece below the shroud, a drain if I'm not mistaken. Pull that up and there is the filter. As others have said, a shop vac is a good idea here since there will be leaves, etc. in there. Remove old filter and replace, noting a circle cutout on one end of the filter and the housing. These should line up of course. The filter should click into place on the short ends. Re-installation is the reverse of removal. Took me about 20 min. Have fun and good luck
Filter is accessed from under hood. I understand you need to remove wiper arms, and then the "aquarium cover". I haven't done mine yet (only 16k), but I'm sure someone will post more detailed instructions, or tell you/us where to find them. Also, try searching on the topic, both here and in NG900 board, you're bound to find something
